Is selling Avon worth the time and energy?

All those pyramid schemes look like a waste to me. The only people that make money are the ones who "recruit" more sales people. I mean really who needs to buy Avon when you can buy cosmetics, that are arguably just as good, at any drug store, grocery store, cosmetic store, beauty salons, and not to mention a few hundred million web sites.
