Wedding very soon....zit cream on stye?

I have a small stye on my bottom eyelid. It started as a very small molelike bump. Then a week later it developed a small white head and got a teeny bit bigger. I have been using hot compresses but to no avail. My wedding is coming up shortly....so I have put zit cream on the style to draw out the white head. Don't worry....the cream is nowhere near my eye. Will this speed up the bursting process? I am advised not to pop it on its own...as that will spread the infection.
